Clingendael Asia Forum
Clingendael Asia Forum is an online platform for commentaries on international relations in, or relating to, Asia. Essays published on the forum add depth to existing analysis and raise important new issues. European perspectives and interests hold particular significance at Clingendael Asia Forum.
Submissions for publication on Clingendael Asia Forum should be in English and no longer than 800 words. They should be tightly reasoned opinion essays – challenging, provoking, renewing or reflecting – and present a point of view on a specific topic of interest to a broad range of people, including policy-makers and scholars. Submissions should reflect on present and future developments, but be sufficiently distanced from the daily news so as to be relevant in the medium to long term as well. No footnotes or graphs should be included. Articles should include subheadings. Bullets are discouraged; quotations should be brief.
As a rule, the forum does not accept articles that have been published or are being considered for publication elsewhere. Submissions will be edited for clarity and length and the editor may ask for revisions. Authors will have the opportunity to review the edited version before publication. Clingendael Asia Forum retains the right to refuse submissions at any time. Manuscripts that the editor deems suitable for publication will be reviewed by at least two other members of the editorial team.
Clingendael Asia Forum is part of Clingendael Asia Studies (CAS), the Asia research group of the Clingendael Institute.
